About Me!

Well....about me, I was born in Rotterdam, The Netherlands in 1971 and I have been fishing from an early age on but I have been fishing with the fly since I was eighteen years old. I actualy gave it a first try when I was eleven years old. My father has been flyfishing for as long as I can remember and told me the basics but at that time other things were more exciting so I left the flyrod alone for a while....untill a few years later.

Fishing with my uncle and my father I learned to fish the rivers in Germany, Austria andHere's me working hard ;) Sweden and Norway after that. With the flyfishing came tying my own flies, I actually prefer this over the fishing. I became an instructor for the first time in 1993 in Rotterdam at the local club where we teached people the basic tying skills. After a few years I switched to Vliegvisclub Spijkenisse where I am still teaching people the art of flytying. I have been fishing with a fly for salmon and bonefish in the past few years but I still have quite a nice wishlist filled with species to fish for and places to go to.

These days I like to tie classic salmonflies and realistic patterns, all the necessary knowledge and skills are quite a challenge.

We fished a lot of rivers in Germany, Austria, Sweden and Norway for salmon, trout and grayling, I personally love the flat's fishing in the tropics maybe even more, beautifull weather, warm watter, sight fishing for fish so strong and fast that you will be surprised every time you hook one.....as a flyfisherman, what more can you wish for?
